Company 95 was dispatched to the area of Weisstown Road and Funk Road at 1607 hours for a report that a controlled burn was now burning without anyone on location. Chief 95 and Deputy 95 arrived on scene and found that the fire was burning and there was no contractor on location. Unknown if it rekindled after he left or if it was still burning. Ladder 95, Engine 95 and Tanker 95 were dispatched to the scene as well as Tanker 97 and Tanker 19. The three Companied set up Engine 95 pumping to Ladder 95 and being supplied by Tanker 19 which was supplied by Tankers 95 and 97. The owner of the property arrived and contacted the contractor who authorized the Fire Companies to use his Excavator to pull the pile apart to get it extinguished. There were three firefighters on location capable of operating the Excavator and a Firefighter from Earl Township Fire Company operated the machine which allowed Crews to quickly extinguish the fire.
