At 1800 hours Collapse 95 was dispatched to 126 Nicole Way in Spring Township for structural damage to a home after a vehicle hit the house. Spring Fire Company requested assistance from the Collapse Team after initial evaluation of the structure. The Spring Fire Company was formerly a part of the Collapse Task Force so they are uniquely qualified in this discipline and made this incident run extremely easy since they are aware of the equipment required to stabilize the structure. Crews from Boyertown and Spring worked to support the first floor in the basement and then moved to the first floor to support the second floor so the vehicle could be removed. The vehicle was removed and Berks Fire & Water restoration company arrived to secure the residence and will build permanent support walls so the structure can be repaired. Great job by all, we enjoyed working with everyone in Spring Township.
Spring Township Police are investigating the crash.
