Company 95 was dispatched to an automatic fire alarm at 2279 Farmington Avenue and on response Berks County DES advised Douglass Police responding to the alarm found a vehicle that was hit by a falling tree that took down power lines in the area. On arrival crews found a vehicle smashed from the tree and primary power lines all over the road. According to the driver of the vehicle he saw a bright flash and heard an explosion and the tree struck his vehicle. He was evaluated by Boyertown Ambulance and refused treatment, he was later picked up by family members. Rescue 95 was sent to the Little Oley side of the incident to handle the AFA call. The AFA was due to the power outage and Met Ed arrived a short time later and BAF&R crews assisted with removing the tree from the roadway. Douglassville Auto Body removed the vehicle. Power remained out in a larger area for hours.
