At 0819 hours Company 95 was dispatched for a structure fire involving the roof of the rear Charge Building. Getting to the fire was the first obstacle due to the location of the roof that was burning. Firefighters then had to cut through the roof to extinguish the fire and make sure it was out. Additional Engine and ladder were dispatched for manpower due to the excessive heat and humidity. The fire was placed under control in 18 minutes and then the companies did an extensive overhaul.
BAF&R was assisted by Eastern Berks Fire, Gilbertsville Fire and New Hanover Fire companies.
Boyertown Ambulance and Gilbertsville Ambulance were standing by due to the heat.
Eastern Berks Regional Police assisted with traffic control around the scene.
Thanks to all, a great job!
