Company 95 was dispatched to 21 E Third Street at 10:59 hours with a report of smoke in the residence and heavy black smoke in the basement. On arrival crews packed up and entered the residence moving to the basement where they located a dehumidifier appliance that had burned up and kicked the breaker so there was no extension of the fire. Crews removed the appliance and ventilated the structure. The home was turned over to the owners.
BAF&R was assisted by Eastern Berks Fire & Rescue and Gilbertsville Fire & Rescue as well as Eastern Berks Regional Police.
