Company 95 was dispatched to Sunset Drive near Winding Road at 1408 hours for wires down and the woods on fire. BAF&R handled several tree down calls with wires Wednesday but this one sparked a brush fire. Eastern Berks Fire, Company 97 assisted Company 95 but crews were unable to do anything but stand-by to protect nearby homes until Met Ed confirmed the power was disconnected from the lines that were down. Company 97 handled another tree down call for BAF&R on S. Sunrise Lane while crews were busy on Sunset Drive. Met Ed arrived and cleared the Company to extinguish the fire. Douglass Township Road Crew assisted with closing the road.
