10-11-2026 – At 2212 hours the brush fire assignment consisting of Station 95 and Brush 19 on mutual aid was dispatched for the 200 block of Mill Street in Colebrookdale Township. The caller reported a brush fire possibly due to a power line down. As personnel were responding and arriving at the station an orange glow could be seen in area of the report. Brush 95-1 arrived and reported a fire at the base of a utility pole but was being contained from spreading due to wet weather conditions from rain the entire day. Personnel investigated and determined that a guide wire from the pole to the ground was energized due to a primary power line being knocked loose from the pole by a tree and was causing the guide wire to burn the brush. Command was given a 1-2 hour eta for the power company and then requested the power to be shut down in the area and the call to the utility company to update them on the fire and situation. The utility company escalated the incident and advised they did shutdown power remotely but were unable to confirm the power lines were deenergized. Personnel stretched the brush reel line off Brush 95-1 and connected a water feed line from Tanker 95 and awaited the arrival of a technician from the power company. Upon their arrival it was confirmed that the power was deenergized and personnel were able to wet down the burnt area and confirm the fire was extinguished. The company was placed available at 2400 hours.
