At 1830 hours on Monday night Jake Bachman account Manager from Glick Fire Equipment met with the BAF&R Truck Committee, President Lehmann, Vice President Malizzi, Fire Chief Deiterich and Fire Commissioner Bealer to formally sign the contract and present the checks for $500,000.oo down payment to Jake securing in the deal for the new engine. The Engine will take up to 27 months to complete and will cost BAF&R just under $900,000.00 when complete. The balance will be covered by a loan and funds raised by the Company. Great job by the Committee designing the perfect Engine for a Community and great job by our Board of Directors for their fiscal management allowing us to have these funds available. A portion of the funds used for the down payment are from the sale of our Rescue Engine which was originally funded by FEMA and they granted us permission to sell that truck and retain the funds for use towards this Engine, FEMA will retain an interest in this Engine equal to that amount, $261,331.24.
