Company 95 was dispatched to a report of black smoke coming from the kitchen window of the home at 119 Schaeffer Street which is unoccupied and listed for sale at 1535 hours. On location crews found smoke coming out of the structure on three side with heavy smoke from the C – D corner from the kitchen. BAF&R was assisted by our neighboring Companies, Eastern Berks, Earl and Gilbertsville. An attack was made through the front door pushing the fire back into the kitchen area and extinguishing the fire. Crews held the fire damage to the kitchen area and the rest of the house had heat and smoke damage. Boyertown Ambulance was on location providing rehab for firefighters and available for any medical emergencies if needed. The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal was on location and is handling the investigation.
