11/30/2023 VEHICLE CRASH WITH INJURIES AND STRUCTURAL DAMAGE, 611 & 613 S. READING AVENUE, COLEBROOKDALE

Company 95 was dispatched to the 600 block of South Reading Avenue 1135 hours for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle with injuries. On arrival crews found that a parked car was struck and pushed through 4 post that support a room on the second floor that overhangs the front of the residence. Collapse 95 was dispatched to evaluate the structure and support the building. EMS from Gilbertsville and Bally responded to treat the injured and transport the one victim to a local hospital. Faust Towing removed both vehicles so BAF&R crews could support the residence. The pedestrian is a resident at the address and was at her car when it was struck. There was construction in the area and crews were assisted by the traffic control company working the construction site as well as Fire Police from Eastern Berks, Earl and Gilbertsville. The roadway was closed for three hours. The driver of the striking vehicle may have suffered from a medical condition.

Eastern berks regional Police are investigating the crash.
