This past weekend, Engine 95-1 was requested twice to relocate to Station 7, Birdsboro Union Fire Company. The first relocate was unscheduled on Friday February 7, 2025 when Station 7 was operating at a 3 alarm dwelling fire in Birdsboro Borough. Engine 95-1 was dispatched at 1734 hours with a full crew and relocated. While on standby the request came in from Tower Health EMS for fire to assist with patient removal from the second floor of a residence in the 100 block of Cinder Street in Birdsboro Borough. Engine 95-1 and crew responded and assisted with patient packaging and removal. Upon returning of Station 7 from the fire, personnel also assisted with washing all the hose that was used by Station 7 at the fire and getting their apparatus back in service. The company was released from the standby at 2355 hours.
On Saturday February 8, 2025, Engine 95-1 was requested at 1600 hours for a scheduled relocate so Station 7 personnel and families could relax and attend their Company Appreciation Dinner. While on the standby at 1801 hours, an automatic fire alarm was dispatched to the Immaculate Conception Church in the 900 block of Chestnut Street in Union Township reported to be a manual pull station alarm. Also dispatched was Monarch Fire Company Quint 6. Engine 95-1 and crew responded immediately and arrived with a reporting party stating they had a fire in an electrical panel in the church and a smoke condition. The upgrade for a structure assignment was immediately requested and additional mutual aid companies were dispatched. Personnel stretched a pre-connect line into the building and began to search and investigate. All occupants were reported evacuated out of the building as the church had just finished Saturday Mass.
Chief 95 arrived and assumed command with Assistant 95-1 assigned to interior. Quint 6 arrived and setup the main to the roof and personnel were sent in to assist interior crews. Interior reported that the fire was out with a smoke condition and were securing power to the affected electrical panel. Other mutual aid companies arrived and were staged and the request was to setup mechanical ventilation. When it was determined that there was no extension, power secured, and when ventilation was completed, command began releasing units. All companies were placed available and Engine 95-1 returned to Station 7 at 1846 hours. Engine 95-1 was released from the standby at 2230 hours. Company 95 is proud to assist Company 7 when needed and thanks to all mutual aid companies on the fire on Saturday.
