02/07/2026 – At 1121 hours the Special Operations Division was requested by Eastern Berks Fire (Station 97) to assist at a motor vehicle accident in the 900 block of Huffs Church Road in District Township. The report was a vehicle had crashed into the front of the residence with structural damage. Collapse 95, Collapse 95-1, and Rescue 95 all made the response and upon arrival the Captains of the Special Operations conversed with 97 Command and it was determined that the front porch roof should be supported while the vehicle was removed to prevent any collapse due to the porch roof supports being hit and the vehicle was resting against the center support. Several spot shores using the Paratech struts were placed under the roof to add additional support. The vehicle had already been stabilized by Eastern Berks Fire using their rescue jacks and it was decided to leave them in place. The towing company then pulled the vehicle from under the porch and away from the house. Personnel reinspected for any additional damage and it was determined that the existing porch posts could be put back into place and the Paratech spot shores removed. The homeowner was advised to have the posts evaluated by a contractor and the assignment was placed available at 1245 hours.
