The American Red Cross arrived in Boyertown around 0800 hours and their team set up for the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive which started at 0900 hours and ended at 1400 hours. We had a great day with a very busy schedule and the Red Cross collected 33 Units of Blood to help save lives where blood is needed.

The final scores for the Battle of the Badges which is a friendly competition between Boyertown Area Fire & Rescue, Eastern Berks Regional Police and Boyertown Ambulance to see who can get the most donors signed up for the drive was as follows: FIRE – 16 Donors, POLICE – 9 Donors, and EMS – 10 Donors. Although Fire won the contest we were all winners with the success of this blood drive.
The next Blood Drive Battle of the Badges will be in July, date to be determined.
