Company 95 was dispatched at 0157 hours for a structure fire in the basement of 311 E. 3rd Street in Boyertown Borough reports of smoke filling the residence. On arrival crews found a small fire on the rear porch area and embers and smoke were entering the structure into the basement. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and began ventilating 311 and 309 E. 3rd Street to clear out the smoke condition. The Boyertown Fire Marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause.
BAF&R was assisted by Earl Township Fire Co, Eastern Berks Fire & Rescue and Gilbertsville Fire & Rescue.
No injuries and the residents were able to stay in the residence. Crews were on scene just under an hour.
