In February of this year there was a dispatch for a Cardiac Arrest in Boyertown Borough involving a 41 year old male, the dispatch caused a response from Boyertown Ambulance, Eastern Berks Regional Police and Boyertown Area Fire & Rescue. The victims spouse had started CPR under the supervision of Berks County Communications until the arrival of Police Officer Harootunian who used his AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to deliver a shock and CPR continued as Medics arrived as well as Firefighters to assist and everyone working together were able to get the victim breathing and with a pulse before he left his residence. Chief Jim Boyer of Boyertown Ambulance went to Mayor Lorraine Carnes and explained what a great team effort this was that saved this mans life and he felt recognition should be done for those involved. The Mayor agreed and certificates were obtained and a date was set for Monday June 5, 2023 at the Borough Council meeting. Mayor Carnes and Chief Boyer presented the certificates individually to each First Responder that was involved and a group picture was taken with the now recovered victim and his family.
May they have many years together with their children.
