Company 95 was dispatched for a possible structure fire, smoke on the third floor of 211 N. Reading Avenue at 2158 hours. Chief 95 arrived on scene a few minutes later and upgraded the call to a working fire. Crews from BAF&R, Eastern Berks Fire and Gilbertsville Fire arrived and entered the home and began ventilating and searching to locate the fire. They located what appeared to be an electrical appliance burned and melted where the fire originated on the third floor and extinguished the fire and checked for extension to the structure. Fire was held to room and contents on the third floor. Crews ventilated the structure and the residents were able to stay in the home after the fire on the lower floors.
Boyertown Ambulance provided rehab for crews and Eastern Berks Regional Police assisted on scene.
