Company 95 was dispatched to 1095 Douglass Drive at 0328 hours for reported fire in the residence. On arrival crews found that the resident had knocked down the fire with a garden hose and overhaul began to take care of any hot spots. The resident was taken to a local hospital by Boyertown Ambulance for evaluation. The resident returned later in the morning and he and his cat were both in good condition. BAF&R was assisted by Amity Fire Company.
Douglass Police and Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal are investigating the fire.
