On Saturday 04-22-2023 at 0952 hours Station 95 and mutual aid were dispatched for a structure fire reported to be an out building on fire in the 300 block of North Funk Road in Colebrookdale Township. Chief 95 arrived and reported an 10’x 12’ outbuilding fully involved spreading to the adjacent brush and trees. Engine 95-1 arrived and gained access through an adjacent residential driveway and the crew attacked the fire. Engine 95 arrived shorty after accessed in the incident driveway and also pulled an attack line to assist with fire control on both the building and the brush. Tankers 95 and 97 both arrived and positioned one in each driveway behind the engines and supplied the two attack engines with water. Mutual aid companies arrived and personnel were put to work overhauling the outbuilding and brush. Due to embers from the fire falling on the adjacent residence crews were sent to check that residence to assure no issues. Engine 95-1 also wet down the roof of the adjacent house at the request of the homeowner to assure no hot embers on the roof. All companies were available and returned by 1100 hours.
As a side note, Company 95 had personnel committed at the trench operations class and also at the Boyertown Park for the Park and Recreation Board’s annual Earth Day Event with Support Trailer 95 supplying food and refreshments for the event. Even with those two events Company 95 was able to staff 5 apparatus to respond to the fire.
