Company 95 was dispatched to the area of 2289 Farmington Avenue at 1523 hours for a report of a vehicle into the stream, unknown injuries. On arrival crews could not approach the vehicle as the driver was accelerating the vehicle throwing water and debris and would not follow commands to turn off the vehicle. Douglass Police arrived and entered the scene from the opposite side of the stream and when the driver observed the Officer he did follow his commands to stop trying to drive away and he exited the vehicle. As crews and Police assisted the driver out of the vehicle it became evident that this was most likely a medical emergency and crews quickly got him to the awaiting Ambulance where he was treated and transported to a local hospital. Crews then assisted Berk-Mont Towing with removal of the vehicle.
Boyertown Ambulance Chief and Gilbertsville Ambulance assisted at the scene.
Douglass Police are investigating the crash.
