01/30/2026 – At 14:49 hours Ladder 95 was dispatched on the initial structure assignment to assist Oley Fire Company, Station 5, with a possible structure fire caller reported the house has an odor of plastic burning and the residence is filling up with smoke. Rescue 95 also made the response as an engine to cover an initial unit. Engine 5, under the command of Assistant 5, arrived first due and reported a haze of smoke in the residence. The report also was a very long snow covered driveway and all additional units to stage on the main roadway. Upon arrival of Ladder 95 the request was made to attempt for the ladder to enter the driveway to gain access to the roof of the residence. Command reported that the incident was a chimney fire. Ladder 95 navigated the long narrow driveway behind Engine 5 and upon arrival setup the main to access the chimney. Crews assisted in checking the chimney and it was determined that there was a blockage causing the smoke condition. Personnel assisted with removing enough of the clogged flue ashes and debris to assure the fire was extinguished. Command determined there was no longer fire nor smoke from the chimney and terminated operations. The company was released and available at 15:57 hours.
