Company 95 was dispatched at 0140 hours for an automatic fire alarm at the Boyertown Elementary School on Second Street. Crews arrived on location and found a smoke condition in the hallways and tracked it down to room 146 where there was a fire on the wall above the heating unit where a bulletin board caught fire. The call was upgraded to a structure fire bringing in mutual aid from Eastern Berks Fire, Earl Township Fire Co., Gilbertsville Fire & Rescue and Boyertown Ambulance. Crews extinguished the fire and began extensive overhaul with thermal cameras and smoke ejector fans. Administration from the School District were notified and the building custodian arrived on location as well as the Facilities Director and the Superintendent. The school district contacted Berks Fire & Water restoration to clean the building from smoke and water damage. The Colebrookdale Fire Marshall and the State Police Fire Marshall are investigating the cause of the fire. The building was turned over to the School District at 0530 hours.
