Jake Bachman of Glick Fire Equipment attended the June monthly meeting of BAF&R so President Malizzi could sign the contract order for our new Tower Truck. The Tower will take four to five years to build and the price tag will be just under 2.3 Million dollars. Thanks to local businesses, Legacy Fire Companies and generous local supporters, we have 1.5 Million dollars to put down on the Tower that gave us numerous discounts toward the original 2.5 Million dollar price tag. This truck will enhance the service BAF&R can provide to our community, especially with rescues of older citizens, allowing them to step into a bucket instead of hanging on to a firefighter and descending a 100′ ladder. This Truck will be able to lower them to the ground in the bucket and this Truck will have firefighting capabilities by having a pump and tank on the Truck. We look forward to this addition to BAF&R.
